The week in one line

Nineteen Super Boosts settled in the window of Monday 21 September to Sunday 27 September 2026. At the flat notional stake of £10 a boost, £190 was staked and the ledger finished £10 in front, a return on investment of 5.3%. Ten won and nine lost, a strike rate of 52.6%, and nothing was voided. With no unsettled boosts left over, these figures are final for the week rather than provisional.

It was a small profit produced by two very different halves of the book. One set of sports and bookmakers carried the week; another set took almost all of it back.

How the bookmakers split

BookmakerSettledWonProfitROI
Betfair44£40100%
bet36532£1033.3%
BOYLE Sports32£1033.3%
Betfred21£00%
William Hill21£00%
Paddy Power10-£10-100%
Ladbrokes40-£40-100%

The two ends of that table cancelled each other almost exactly. Betfair went four from four for £40, and Ladbrokes went nought from four for -£40. Everything in between decided the week, and what was left after bet365 and BOYLE Sports contributed £10 apiece was the single losing boost at Paddy Power. Betfred and William Hill each broke even on two settled boosts.

How the sports split

American Football was perfect: four settled, four won, £40 profit at a 100% ROI. Horse Racing supplied the largest sample at six settled, four of them winners, for £20 at 33.3%. A single Cricket boost won for £10.

The other side of the ledger was almost entirely Football. Seven settled, one won, six lost, leaving -£50 at an ROI of -71.4%. A lone Multi-Sport boost lost for -£10. Take football out and the week looks emphatic; leave it in, as the ledger does, and the whole thing narrows to a tenner.

Standouts and misses

The wins were spread across codes. William Hill's Joe Root to score 30+ runs in England v Sri Lanka on 22 September landed at Evs for £10. 25 September was the busiest good day: Talk Of New York to win the 15:00 Newmarket was boosted to Evs by both BOYLE Sports and bet365, and won for both, while Betfair's pair from Falcons @ Packers - Bijan Robinson to score an anytime touchdown, and Michael Penix Jr and Jordan Love to throw 1+ passing touchdowns each - both came in at Evs for £10 each.

The misses were led by football. Paddy Power's Bukayo Saka to have 1+ shots on target including woodwork in England v Spain lost at Evs on 26 September, as did bet365's Bruno Fernandes to score or assist in Portugal v Wales at Evs on 24 September. Ladbrokes' four-fold-style Slovenia v Scotland boost - Scotland to win or draw, McGinn 1+ shots on target and over 1.5 goals - was the longest priced loser of the group at 4/1. Two Newmarket place boosts also went down at 6/4 each: Betfred's First Law to finish in the top two, and William Hill's Spirited Gesture to finish in the first two places.

Against the previous window and the all-time record

The preceding week of the same length had 31 settled boosts, 12 winners, one void, and finished £17.50 down on £300 staked, an ROI of -5.8% at a 40% strike rate. This week was smaller, sharper and positive on both counts.

Across the whole running ledger, 160 Super Boosts have now settled: 70 won, 87 lost, three void, £1,570 staked and £70 of profit, an ROI of 4.5% at a 44.6% strike rate. This week's 5.3% sits just above that long-run figure, and its 52.6% strike rate sits well above it. Every boost listed is kept in the archive.

What this is and is not

This is a record of what backing every Super Boost we listed at the same £10 notional stake would have returned across this window, nothing more. It is not a verdict on any bookmaker: four winners from four at Betfair and four losers from four at Ladbrokes are both tiny samples, and a week of 19 settled boosts cannot separate pricing from variance. It is not a view on any selection, and it says nothing about what the next window will do. Past results do not predict future ones. If you want to see how a given price compares with the unboosted one, the Super Boost value calculator does that arithmetic.
